Pumpkin Patch Pop-Up Party and Pet Blessing
Join Vinings UMC for our Pumpkin Patch Pop-Up Party and Pet Blessing on Sunday October 11th at the church building immediately after worship until 4PM. We’ll have burgers and hot dogs and a no-utensils necessary lunch (chips, drinks, etc.) The Pet Blessing will happen around 1:30PM. We’ll have fun games (including a cake walk and musical chairs!) and festive music will be provided by the one and only Rev. DJ Rapko. We need all the help we can get to help this go off without a hitch, and we certainly want you to stay after worship to help. You can sign up on the sheet in the Narthex, right outside the Sanctuary, or e-mail the church office. We look forward to welcoming the Fall season with you!
Sacred Playlist meeting Wednesday
Have you ever heard a song that isn’t a worship song, but somehow it points you to God? God is everywhere if we know how to look! Sacred Playlist will meet to discuss one or two songs per week and explore their spiritual meaning for us as people of faith. Expect a wide variety of songs! This group is drop-in, drop-out and come as you are able. Each week is meant to be a stand-alone discussion, though you will also benefit from coming from week to week as we build a rapport with each other. Communion in the Community
This Monday we'll be back for our last weekly Communion in the Community at Another Broken Egg Café at Vinings Jubilee (4300 Paces Ferry Rd SE Unit 150, Atlanta, GA 30339) from 10am-12pm. It's a great time to get to ask your pastor anything (within reason) and to be out in the community together. Thank you to everyone who has come out to these so far! Pastor Chris has really enjoyed breakfasting and lunching with you! Look out for new time and location options for October!
Charge Conference on 9/29
This year, our annual Charge Conference will be held at Bethany United Methodist Church, 760 Hurt Road SW, Smyrna, GA, on Tuesday, September 29 at 7 pm. All are invited. This is an opportunity for us to share our ministries, elect leaders and discuss all business of the church. Please come if you are at all available!
Wellroot Offering Now Through 10/4
On September 20th, our Special Offering will be for Wellroot. With a focus on the whole family, Wellroot’s programs are designed to keep families together whenever possible. Wellroot provides short-term foster families when needed, transitional and independent living and family housing. Wellroot’s programs nurture and educate teens and young adults to break the cycle of trauma in their lives.
