AN INCLUSIVE COMMUNITY FOR ALL

“I am the vine, you are the branches. Those who abide in me and I in them bear much fruit, because apart from me you can do nothing.”

John 15:5

VININGS NEWS
servicecanceled_4k.jpg

Because of projected severe weather and bad road conditions, regular worship service and Sunday school at Vinings are canceled on Sunday morning, January 16, 2022. However, Sunday school will commence on Zoom at 10am. Stay safe and check on those who live alone.

WELCOMING YOU HOME
COVID-19 Update

From the North GA UMC conference office: "Bishop Sue Haupert-Johnson and the Appointive Cabinet are grateful for you and it is their deepest desire that you live healthy in the New Year and beyond. It is out of this desire for your well-being and in light of the Omicron variant that the Bishop and Cabinet share the following message encouraging you to exercise an abundance of caution and exercise practices that take into consideration the common good.

Laity, please remember to be gracious to your pastors as they enter the third calendar year of balancing the tension between keeping everyone safe while advancing the mission of the church. Physical and emotional exhaustion is real among our pastors. They are doing their best.

For churches that are planning on gathering in person for worship, please encourage unvaccinated church and community members to take advantage of online worship opportunities. Please insist on a return to mandatory masks and distancing in buildings as we weather this surge in cases.
"

What I will say in addition to this, the above conference notification was the beginning of January 2022. We have continued reports of increased numbers in transmissions of a variety of variants of COVID-19. Understand our goal is to keep Vinings open. This means we have to diligent and make wise choices. Masks at this time are encouraged. Social distancing in worship service is required. Vaccines are encouraged. If you are sick, see your doctor. If you are compromised, go get teasted. If you test positive for COVID-19, even breakthrough, please stay home and follow your doctor's instructions. Notify me via 470-399-1795 or the church office, so we can make sure you receive spiritual care and if you were at the church, the church can be disinfected.

Continue to live for God, love God, follow God, and in all things, stay the course!

Continue to pray for our church, the church universal, our communities, our first responders, hospital teams, and all other essential employees who have been keeping us functioning through this pandemic.

I love you and want you to be well.
